Chris has been many things in his life: opera singer, stage performer, voice teacher, university lecturer, pianist and accompanist, award winning fine jewellery designer, morning photographer and now Feldenkrais Practitioner.
Chris’s interest in the body and how it works was really awakened through the many years that he taught (and continues to teach) singers. He long wondered how best to help people find the ease and body engagement that effective and safe singing requires. He finds that the Feldenkrais Method is a really useful way for people to get in touch with their bodies and to find ways to enhance their performance.
His PhD research was into the intersection of the burgeoning area of voice research with the vocal studio, which he completed in 2011.
Chris has now completed the SEAUS 3 professional training program for Feldenkrais Practitioners and is an Accredited Feldenkrais Practitioner able to work with people individually and as a teacher of Awareness Through Movement classes.
Having been involved with the Method for many years now and seeing the effect it has had on him personally, he is keen for people to find the many benefits that involvement with this Method can bring. The training process has been one of discovery, challenge and enlightenment and Chris is keen to share that with others.
